Mumbai South Lok Sabha election result: Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant defeats Congress' Milind Deora
In last four Lok Sabha elections, Congress has been able to win twice in Mumbai South while BJP and Shiv Sena have been able to register victory one time each.
Shiv Sena's Arvind Sawant registered a victory in Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency. Sawant defeated Congres' Milind Deora by 1,00,067 votes.
Mumbai South Lok Sabha constituency is parliamentary constituency number 31 in Maharashtra.
In 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Arvind Sawant defeated Congress' Milind Deora by a margin of 17 per cent of votes polled.
In last four Lok Sabha elections, Congress has been able to win in Mumbai South twice while BJP and Shiv Sena have been able to register victory one time each.
Mumbai South Lok Sabha seat has 7,19,281 voters of which 59 per cent are men while 41 per cent are women.
The seven phases of the Lok Sabha polls 2019 covered a total of 543 constituencies. Voting in the first phase was conducted on April 11.
Simultaneous elections were held for Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Sikkim, and Odisha assemblies -- the results for which are also due on May 23.
