In a major twist in the Mumbai fashion designer murder case, the ex-husband who was being accused of killing the victim, Sunita Singh, by 'haunting' has been found alive.
On October 4, Sunita Singh was found dead in her apartment and police suspected that the woman was killed by her 23-year-old son Lakshya Singh. According to police, there was an argument between the woman and her son after which her son pushed her.
Investigations revealed that Lakshya had delusions due to his drug addiction. He believed that his father, who had 'died three-years-ago' had come back and killed his mother and therefore he went to the temple and asked the priest to perform a pitru paksh pooja for his mother.
But, to Lakshay's shock, his father has turned up alive. Kuldeep, who was divorced from Sunita, said that he had not seen his son or ex-wife for past few years but he was sure that no black magic was involved.
Speaking to India TV in an exclusive interview, Kuldeep said that no one in his family believed in black magic or superstitions, but, he alleged, that Lakshya's girlfriend Eshpriya Banerjee was beleived to be a follower of the occult practices.
Delay caused death:
Investigation in the case has revealed that Sunita was alive till early morning and if her son Lakshya would have called the doctor, he could have saved her. However, Lakshya went to a temple in Khar and asked the priest to perform shraddh (prayer done to appease the soul of ancestors).
He took the priest to his house where the priest was shocked to see Sunita in a pool of blood and asked Lakshya to call an ambulance. On arrival, the ambulance staff told Lakshya his mother had died.
On Saturday, Lakshya was produced in court and remanded to three-day police custody. He has been charged under Section 304 of the Indian Penal Code (culpable homicide not amounting to murder).
