A 28-year-old flyer has been arrested for allegedly molesting an air hostess while getting into a Mumbai-Bengaluru flight on Tuesday night, reports said.
The police said while being seated in the aircraft around 9.30 pm, Raju Gangappa, a businessman, allegedly touched the 20-year-old air hostess inappropriately, a report in Mumbai Mirror said. The woman reportedly raised an alarm, following which the flyer picked up an argument with her.
After she alerted her fellow cabin crew members, the security and CISF personnel were called in and Gangappa was deplaned. “He was handed over to the local police by the CISF officials, and booked for molestation,” said a police officer, it said..
In her complaint to police, the air hostess alleged the accused touched her inappropriately and put his hand around her shoulder.
The accused has been booked under relevant sections under the Indian Penal Code.
