At least six people have died in the month of September due to various monsoon-related waterborne diseases.
According to the BMC's public health department, five people including a 13-year-old died of dengue and one due to leptospirosis.
Besides this, one case of H1N1 has been registered by a civic hospital, in a first for the city.
All six cases of monsoon-related waterborne diseases are from different wards.
A 42-year-old woman from Walkeshwar area died of dengue. She had travelled from London in the first week of September.
A 13-year-old resident of Akurli Road in Kandivali East, who was first admitted to a private hospital, was later shifted to a public hospital.
According to the report, all dengue deaths are related to respiratory failure.
Public health department officials said they are taking precautionary measures in the wards.
"4,365 cases of dengue-like illness were admitted in September, compared to 3,721 last year. Under a pan-city survey, 6,50,117 households were inspected. Of these, Aedes breeding was detected at 4,793, and Anopheles breeding at 375," an official from the health department said.
