Modi Cabinet: Narendra Modi has been sworn in as the Prime Minister of India for a second term today, along with his Council of Ministers. Here is the complete list of politicians who are set to be part of PM Narendra Modi's new Cabinet.

Some enthused, others disappointed. Some had their phones ringing for ministerial berths in Modi 2.0 while others still hoped for that million dollar call. It is the day when Narendra Modi, riding high on a massive mandate, takes oath as the Prime Minister of India for a second term. The Council of Ministers too took oath at the mega ceremony in the magnificent Rashtrapati Bhawan.

Here's a list of NDA ministers set to be part of the Union Cabinet:

  • Amit Shah: Having served as the BJP President for five years, Amit Shah will now be part of the Union Cabinet. Shah was MP of the Rajya Sabha from 2017 to 2019, the indirectly elected body of Parliament, co-representing Gujarat from which he resigned in Spring 2019 to contest the Gandhinagar seat in Gujarat in the directly elected, larger body of the Union Government, the Lok Sabha. He won the 15th contest for the seat in its public vote, a seat created in 1967, with 69.3% of the votes cast.
  • Nitin Gadkari: With a clean image and track record of development works in the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, it is expected that the government will ensure these ministries remain with Nitin Gadkari in Modi Sarkar 2.0.
  • Sushma Swaraj: Sushma Swaraj has been serving as the current Minister of External Affairs. She is the second woman after Indira Gandhi to hold the office. 
  • Ravi Shankar Prasad: The former minister for electronics and information technology, Prasad has held cabinet portfolios in all BJP governments starting from Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Prasad shot to prominence in politics as an ABVP activist and a devoted RSS worker. As part of Jayprakash Narayan’s Total Revolution movement, he went to jail for agitating against former prime minister Indira Gandhi.
  • Piyush Goyal: Former minister for coal, Piyush Goyal, has held several portfolios in the Narendra Modi government. He is the current minister of Railways and was also appointed the interim finance minister and presented the 2019 budget.
  • Smriti Irani: Smriti Irani won the prestigious Amethi seat against Congress President Rahul Gandhi. Rahul Gandhi lost to Irani from his bastion of Amethi by a margin of over 55,000 votes in Lok Sabha polls. Irani polled 4,68,514 votes while Gandhi secured 4,13,394 votes in Amethi. The victory margin for Irani is 55,120 votes. 
  • Nitin Gadkari: With a clean image and track record of development works in the Road Transport and Highways Ministry, it is expected that the government will ensure these ministries remain with Nitin Gadkari in Modi Sarkar 2.0.
  • Nirmala Sitharaman: Nirmala Sitharaman, second female Defence minister of India, has been serving for the ministry since 2017. Sitharaman has served as the Minister of State for Finance and Corporate Affairs under the Ministry of Finance and the Minister for Commerce and Industry with independent charge. Prior to that, she has served as a national spokesperson for the BJP.
  • Thawarchand Gehlot: Dr. Thawar Chand Gehlot, who is the member of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party. He is the general secretary of BJP and also the Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment in the NDA Government. He represents the state of Madhya Pradesh in the upper house of Indian Parliament, Rajya Sabha. He formerly represents Shajapur in the lower house of Parliament, Lok Sabha. He completed his Bachelors of Arts degree from Vikram University, Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh. 
  • Kailash Chaudhary: Kailash Choudhary is currently a Member of Parliament from Barmer constituency. He was the member of Rajasthan Legislative Assembly, where he represented Baytoo Vidhan Sabha constituency of Rajasthan. 
  • Anurag Thakur: He is a member of the Lok Sabha from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh and is a three time MP. He was first elected to Lok Sabha as a candidate from BJP. 
  • Ram Vilas Paswan: He is the President of Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and has been serving as Cabinet Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution. He is an eight time Lok Sabha member and is also a former Rajya Sabha MP.
  • Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti: She was appointed as the Minister of State for Food Processing in November 2014. She is the member of Lok Sabha where she represents the Fatehpur constituency, Uttar Pradesh. She won the Lok Sabha election seat of her constituency by 1,98,205 votes against Sukhdev Prasad Verma of BSP.
  • Giriraj Singh: Giriraj Singh won the seat of Begusarai, Bihar. He defeated his nearest rival, Kanhaiya Kumar, by a margin of 422217 votes. While Singh received 56.48 votes, runner-up Kanhaiya Kumar polled 22.03 votes. He has been serving as the Minister of State for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in the Government of India.
  • Harsimrat Kaur Badal: The Shiromani Akali Dal defended the Bathinda seat in Lok Sabha Election against Amrinder Singh Raja Warring from Congress. She won by a margin of almost 20,000 votes.
  • Sadanand Gowda: He has been serving as the Minister of Statistics and Programme Implementation in the Government of India. Sadanand won against Krishna Byre Gowda from Congress in the Lok Sabha Election by a margin of 1,46,100 votes.
  • Arjun Munda: Arjun Munda has won the seat for Bharatiya Janta Party from the constituency Khunti, Jharkhand. Former CM Arjun Munda is finally leading but by a slender margin of 1098 votes against Congress candidate Kali Charan Munda.   
  • Babul Supriyo: He has won from Asansol in the lok sabha elections against Moon Moon Sen (AITC) with 6,33,378 votes.
  • Nityanand Rai: He retained his seat from Ujiarpur as he won in the Lok Sabha Election 2019 with 5,43,906 votes. He was against Upendra Kushwaha (RLSP).
  • Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore: He has been serving as the Minister of State for Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. He won from Jaipur Rural in the Lok Sabha Election against Congress' Krishna Poonia with 8,20,132 votes.
  • Santosh Gangwar: He has been serving as the current Minister of State with independent charge in the Ministry of Labour And Employment. He won the seat from Bareilly in the Lok Sabha elections against Bhagwat Saran Gangwar (SP) with 5,65,270 votes.
  • Rao Inderjit Singh: Rao Inderjit Singh won the Gurugram seat of BJP by 8,81,546 votes against Congress leader from Gurugram seat Ajay Singh Yadav.
  • RK Singh: He is a current minister of state in the government of India. He won from Arrah in the Lok Sabha Election against Raju Yadav (CPI) with 5,66,480 votes
  • Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti: She was the Minister of State for Food Processing Industries. She won from Fatehpur in the Lok Sabha Elections against Sukhdev Prasad Verma (BSP) with 5,66,040 
  • Ramdas Athawale: He is the president of the Republican Party of India. Currently, he is the Minister of State of Social Justice and empowerment and also represents Maharashtra in the Rajya Sabha.
  • Mansukh Mandaviya: He was the Minister of State in charge of Road Transport and Highways, Shipping and Chemicals and Fertilisers. He will be a part of Narendra Modi's government for the second time.
  • Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi: He is the Union Minister of Minority Affairs and will be a part of Narendra Modi's cabinet again.
  • Narendra Singh Tomar: He is the current Minister of Rural Development, Minister of Parliamentary Affairs and Panchayati Raj and Mines. He is going to be a part of Narendra Modi's government.
  • Ramesh Pokhriyal: The former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand won from Hardwar in Lok Sabha Elections against Ambrish Kumar (congress) with 6,65,674 votes. 
  • Harsh Vardhan: He is the Minister at Ministry of Science & Technology, Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Ministry of Earth Sciences. He won from Chandni Chowk in the Lok Sabha elections against Jai Prakash Agarwal (congress) with 5,19,055 votes.
