Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) president MK Stalin was admitted to a hospital in Chennai late on Wednesday night.
Stalin has been admitted to Apollo Hospital where he underwent a surgery to remove a cyst from his right thigh.
The Tamil Nadu leader will be discharged later on Thursday afternoon, a statement issued by the hospital said.
Stalin was elected as DMK president in August, days after his father M Karunanidhi died after a prolonged illness.
