New Delhi: Actress and BJP MP Hema Malini faced ire after she tweeted a picture of her from sets of a movie, while violence was raging in her constituency Mathura.
The actress, though, deleted the tweets in matter of few hours, but not soon enough to stop people from raising questions on her duties.
Even her party, the ruling BJP, had to hold a press conference in afternoon to defend the tweets of “Dream girl”.
“I am an artist and was shooting, which is why I couldn’t be there in Mathura. I have my staff and people in administration who inform me when any small or big incident happens in the constituency, and they told me about this too.”
Hema told reporters.
“I had already given shooting dates to the team. As soon as the shoot warps up, I will go to Mathura” the ‘Baghban’ actress clarified for not being in Mathura.
“This incident has been happening from the last two months. We have been in touch with the local police to control the situation, but we need more help from the UP CM”
Hema Malini added.
Hema Malini said that she will be going to Mathura.
Mathura has been on edge after activists of ‘Swadheen Bharat Subhash Sena’, clashed with police in city’s Jawahar Bagh area on Thursday evening. As many as 24 people, including City SP Mathura Mukul Dwivedi and Station Officer of Farah Police station Santosh Yadav, were killed in the gruesome incident.
