A day after an Army jawan’s body was mutilated after being he was killed by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir, the Indian Army today carried out massive fire assault across the Line of Control (LoC) and destroyed four Pakistani posts in Keran sector of Kupwara district.
Heavy casualties were inflicted on the Pakistani posts in the operation, a statement by Northern Command, Indian Army said today.
The development comes a day after the Army vowed to avenge the killing of its jawan in Macchil sector of Kupwara district of Kashmir.
Terrorists, aided by the cover fire by Pakistani Army, crossed the Line of Control (LoC) on Friday night and killed sepoy Mandeep Singh and mutilated his body.
"The incident will be responded to appropriately,” the Army had said yesterday.
