The father of the eight-year-old rape survivor has said no to monetary compensation granted by the Madhya Pradesh government and has sought the death penalty for the accused. "I do not want any compensation. I just want the accused to be hanged," the father told media on Saturday after a BJP minister announced that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan has transferred Rs 5,00,000 in his account.
"CM has transferred Rs 5,00,000 in her father's account. Hope police finds the accused very soon so that can be hanged. State govt will take care of her health and education," Archana Chitnis, Women and Child Development Minister said after visiting the girl in the hospital on Saturday.
Meanwhile, the doctors at Indore's MY Hospital said that the rape survivor's condition has been continuously improving and she is now out of danger.
The girl was raped on June 26 after being abducted from outside her school by two men. She suffered grievous injuries to her neck, face, head and private parts and was admitted to MY hospital in the capital on June 27.
"The girl is out of danger. Her condition is continuously improving," V S Pal, superintendent of the hospital, about 200 km away from Mandsaur, told reporters.
"We have started giving her solid food. The girl is conscious and is talking to her parents," he added.
Pal said the victim's wounds were healing and she was likely to be discharged from the hospital in about two weeks.
The team of doctors from the hospital were being advised by two private paediatricians to ensure the best treatment for the minor, as directed by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, he said.

To the opposition Congress' demand that she be shifted to a speciality hospital in Mumbai or Delhi for better treatment, Pal said parents of the minor were satisfied with the medical care she was getting at the hospital and neither of them had demanded that she be shifted elsewhere.
Meanwhile, the two accused Irfan alias Bhaiyu (20) and Asif (24) were arrested in connection with the case and booked under relevant sections of the IPC and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
MP has become rape capital of India: Scindia
Congress MP Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was among several political bigwigs who visited the rape survivor at the hospital on Saturday, slammed the BJP government in the state for allegedly losing grip on law and order.
"Madhya Pradesh has become the rape capital of the nation. Around 5000 rapes take place in the state each year. CM should either give an answer or resign. When's this going to stop," Scindia said.
Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday said: "as a nation, we must protect our children" and demanded "speedy justice" for the victim.
Taking to Twitter, Rahul Gandhi said the brutality that the child was subjected to "sickens" him.
"In Mandsaur, MP, an 8-year-old girl was kidnapped and gang-raped, and is battling for her life. The brutality this young child was subjected to sickens me," he said in a tweet.
"As a nation, we must come together to protect our children and bring the attackers to speedy justice," he added.
Protests erupted in Mandsaur following the incident, with demands for death punishment for the culprits.
