The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has made it clear that no mall owner is allowed to charge parking fees.
On Tuesday, a long debate took place in South Delhi Municipal Corporation office on charging of parking fee in malls.
The mayor of SDMC, Narendra Chawla pointed out that in 2016, the High Court had issued a notice allowing one mall to charge 20Rs/hour or according to the MCD charging fees.
When the discussions started, the AAP MLAs raised questions over the collection of parking fees by the mall owners.
The Aam Aadmi Party MLAs even accused the SDMC members of conniving with the mall owners.
The allegations lead to heated exchange after which the mayor said that SDMC has not allowed the mall owners to charge parking fees.
