As it looks certain that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government is set to return to power. Prominent leaders from the Opposition parties are tweeting congratulatory messages to PM Modi.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, who has been sparring with PM Narendra Modi in past few months, was among the first to extend her wishes on Twitter.
"Congratulations to the winners" she began her tweet befor quickly adding "all losers are not losers". Without mentioning either PM Narendra Modi or Amit Shah she demanded that all VVPAT slips should be matched.
"So the exit polls were correct" tweeted former Jammu & Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah as he congratulated PM Narendra Modi and Amit Shah for running a "professional campaign"
He signed off with "bring on the next five years"
Former Jammu & Kashmir CM and People's Democratic Party chief Mehbooba Mufti quickly followed suit and extended her wishes to Modi-Shah duo for the "historic win".
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao PM Narendra Modi as well. It is worth noting that PM Narendra Modi had warmly congratulated KCR in the past after Telangana Rashtra Samithi clinched decisive victory in Telangana assembly elections.
