Delhiites can expect some relief from scorching temperatures that touched 43 degrees Celsius on Friday as the weather department has forecast light rain accompanied with thunderstorm over the weekend in Delhi.
The minimum temperature was recorded at 24.4 degrees Celsius, a notch below the season's average while the maximum is likely to settle at 40 degrees Celsius, a MeT official said.
According to the Meteorological department, a western disturbance is likely to bring light rain to the city with dust-raising winds blowing towards it.
The air quality in the city, which continued to remain in the "very poor" category, is also expected to improve from Saturday.
A moderate dust storm hit parts of the national capital on Friday evening providing relief to Delhiites from the searing heat. The maximum temperature was recorded at 41.2 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature settled at 26.4 degrees Celsius.
Delhi’s minimum temperature on Wednesday was recorded at 26.4° Celsius — two notches above normal for the season, while the hottest location in the capital was Palam with a high of 43.6° C.
