With security along the international border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) beefed up by the Indian forces in the wake of several ceasefire violations and infiltration bids by Pakistan, the Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists are now planning to sneak into the Indian territories through a different route.
Intelligence sources have warned that LeT chief Hafiz Saeed is planning to use the rivers, Nikki Tavi and Badi Tavi, to enter India, and commander Abu Irfan has been made the in-charge of the operation, say media reports.
The report further states that sources have also claimed that Hafiz Saeed is planning a big strike in India.
According to the report, at least eight to nine terrorists are likely to be a part of the operation and the Pakistani army is allegedly helping them infiltrate the border.
Following the reports, the vigil along all the rivers and streams near the border areas has been increased and several BSF teams have been deployed along suspected infiltration routes.
Following the ‘surgical strikes’ carried out by the Indian Army on terror launch pads in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir on September 29, the BSF has reportedly foiled at least 15 infiltration bids along the international border.
All these attempts were made either through rivers or jungles along the border.
According to reports, most of cross-border firing by Pakistani army has been taking place in the Jammu sector, especially during the night when Pak Rangers provide covering fire to help terrorists infiltrate into the Indian territories.
