Terrorists on Tuesday attacked a police station in Jammu and Kashmir's Kulgam district where heavy exchange of fire was underway.
Terrorists started firing at Yaripora police station in Kulgam today evening. Security forces returned the militants' fire, a senior police officer said.
"Till last reports came in, firing exchanges were still going on there," he said. More details were awaited.
The attack on the police station came two days after terrorists attempted to strike Army-BSF camp in Baramulla on Sunday.
The attempt by the terrorists was thwarted by the BSF in which a para-military jawan lost his life.
Senior para-military officials described the attack as a 'shoot and scoot' strike by terrorists.
