Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday said that one of the four militants killed in Tuesday's gunfight in the Tral forest area was a Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) operational commander.
Taking to Twitter, State Director of Police, SP Vaid said, "Operational commander of JeM Mufti Yasir was among those killed in the joint operation in upper reaches of Tral."
The DGP also uploaded a picture on Twitter of the slain militant showing him alongside JeM founder Masood Azhar.
Security personnel gunned down four militants in the Tral forest area in Pulwama on Tuesday. An army soldier and a Special Police Officer (SPO) were also martyred in the gunfight.
