Two terrorists were gunned down by security forces in an encounter in Anantnag's Kokernag on Friday morning, while one still remains to be hunted down.

One terrorist is still believed to be trapped in the encounter, which is being jointly operated by Army, CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police. The encounter is said to have erupted in Vihlu area.

Authorities had earlier today suspended internet services in the area.

On the occasion of Eid on August 22, Kashmir lost four of its sons who were killed by the terrorists on this auspicious day.

In south Kashmir’s Kulgam, under training police constable Fayaz Ahmad Shah was shot dead by terrorists when he was returning home after offering Eid prayers.

Shah, 34, was working with the Jammu and Kashmir Police as a Special Police Officer and had been given an out-of-turn promotion and selected as a constable. He was undergoing training at Talwara in Jammu region and had come home. Terrorists pumped bullets at Shah from a close range near his house. He died on the spot.
