Security forces have gunned down an unidentified Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist in an encounter in Hajin area of Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora district on Thursday.
"One militant has been killed in the encounter so far. The firing exchanges are still going on," a police officer said.
The official added a cordon and search operation has been launched in village Shakurdin following information about presence of militants there.
The search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened firing towards security forces, he said.
