Jammu: Jammu and Kashmir government today sanctioned the creation of four women police stations, one each in district Anantnag, Baramulla, Rajouri and Udhampur.

The Cabinet also sanctioned creation of 208 posts, 52 each for the four stations, Education Minister Naeem Akhtar told reporters here today.

The 208 posts include four posts of Inspector, four Sub-Inspector, 8 Assistant Sub-Inspector, 24 Head Constable, 136 Constable and 32 posts of Follower, he said.

"It shall be a step towards achieving gender equality," Akhtar added.
