Defence Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Wednesday met the family members of slain soldier Aurangzeb in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch. Aurangzeb was abducted from Pulwama by terrorists and later his bullet-ridden body was recovered on June 14.

On Monday, Army chief General Bipin Rawat also paid a visit to the family of martyr rifleman.

Aurangzeb's brother and father have requested the government repeatedly to avenge his death by eliminating those behind the heinous act. While his father made an emotional plea to the government to end terrorism from the Valley for peaceful future, his brother said that if the government fails to take any swift action, he will avenge Aurangzeb's death himself.

"I appeal to Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take swift action in this. 100 of their people should pay the price for the death of my brother. If you (the government) are not able to do so, then tell us, we will do it ourselves," he told ANI after the soldier was buried with full-state honours in the Valley on Saturday.

Aurangzeb was a resident of Kashmir. He was abducted by terrorists from Kalampora in Pulwama on last Thursday morning while he was on way to his home in Rajouri district for Eid celebrations. His dead body was recovered from Gussu village, about 10 km away from Kalampora, in Pulwama district later in the evening.
