On first death anniversary of Hizbul terrorist Burhan Wani, his father Muzaffar Wani on Friday appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to maintain peace in the state and not to indulge in bloodshed.
In his appeal to the people of J&K, Muzaffar Wani said that violence will not benefit anyone and only harm the interests of the state.
Strict security arrangements were made in Kashmir valley to ward off protests called by separatists to mark the anniversary of Burhan Wani’s killing by Indian security forces on April 8 last year.
As a precautionary measure, the state administration either placed all separatist leaders under house arrest or took them into preventive custody.
Kashmir University cancelled all exams scheduled for today saying the new dates would be announced later.
The Railway authorities cancelled train services between Baramulla town and Bannihal town in the Jammu region for today.
