India's envoy to Ireland Ms. Vijay Thakur Singh was on Tuesday named secretary (East) in the Ministry of External Affairs, according to an official order.
Singh is a 1985 batch officer of the Indian Foreign Service.
She will take over as Officer on Special Duty in the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) with effect from September 15, it said.
Singh, currently Ambassador in Dublin, will take over as secretary (East), MEA, with effect from October 1 on superannuation of Preeti Saran on September 30, the order said.
