India on Saturday rejected the allegations levelled by Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi during his address at the UN General Assembly meet in New York.
Practicing the 'Right to Reply', India's First Secretary in Permanent Mission of India to UN, Eanam Gambhir said that Qureshi's statements before UNGA were fake, and thus could make only a fake vision. "For a new vision to materialise, Pakistan must demonstrate that it has moved beyond the narrative of distortion, deception and deceit," she said.
Gambhir termed Qureshi's statement on the 2014 Peshawar terror attack as 'most outrageous' and said it was a 'preposterous allegation'.
Earlier in his address at the UNGA, Qureshi said; "Pakistan continues to face terrorism financed and orchestrated by India - shall never forget the mass murder of more than 150 children in a Peshawar School, the terrible Mastung attack and others that have links with terrorists supported by India".
In response to this, Gambhir said: "Let me recollect for the new government of Pakistan the outpouring of sorrow and pain in India that followed the massacre of innocent children in 2014. Both houses of India's Parliament had expressed solidarity while paying respect to the memory of those killed."
She said that Pakistan's 'despicable insinuation' dishonours the memory of the innocent lives that were lost that day. "It is a desperate attempt to look away from the monster of terror that Pakistan has itself created to destabilise its neighbours and covet their territory", she stated.
Speaking on Jammu and Kashmir, Gambhir reiterated that J&K is an integral part of India. "Let me make it clear to the new government of Pakistan that the entire state of Jammu and Kashmir is and will remain an integral part of India," she said.
Gambhir also countered Pakistan's claims that it is acting against terrorists.
"Let us fact check this: Can Pakistan deny the fact that it is the host and patron of 132 of the UN-designated terrorists and 22 terrorists entities under the 1,267 and the 1988 UN Security Council sanctions regime as of today."
She said that mastermind of the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack and an UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed "enjoys a free run inside Pakistan and spews venom and sets up candidates for electoral office".
Referring to Quereshi's speech at the UNGA, Gambhir said the Pakistan termed the gruesome killing of Indian security personnel by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists as 'flimsy grounds'.
"While it may not be the case for Pakistan, for India every loss of life counts. Hence, our belief that talks and terror cannot go together," she said.
