The Indian Air Force is capable of carrying out full spectrum of operations in case of two-front war, Air Chief B S Dhanoa said today.
Addressing a press conference here on the eve of Air Force Day, the Air Chief Marshal said his force has the capability to locate, fix and strike across the border but any decision on surgical strike involving the IAF has to be taken by the government.
"Surgical strike is a decision that has to be taken by Govt of India. IAF has capability to carry out full spectrum of air operation,” he said.
"We are ready to take on any challenge," he said. Responding to a question, he said the IAF is ready to take on the challenge of a two-front war.
In a warning to enemy forces, Dhanoa said, "Men and women under my command are fully prepared to undertake full spectrum of air operation and respond to any challenge in befitting manner."
"IAF is prepared to fight at short notice in full synergy with other two sister services, should the need arise," Dhanoa said.
The Chief of Air Staff also said the IAF will achieve sanctioned strength of 42 fighter squadrons by 2032.
