Bhopal: Sadhvi Pragya Singh Thakur today broke her silence on the clean chit by the National Investigating Agency (NIA) in the 2008 Malegaon bomb blasts case and said that delayed justice itself is injustice. She reached Ujjain to attend the Simhastha Kumbha Mela after being granted permission to bathe in the Shipra river by the Dewas District Court.
“I am a nationalist, a patriot, not a terrorist. This is my country. How can a patriot act against her own country?” she said.
The Sadhvi also trained her guns at those who allegedly implicated her in the Malegaon blasts. “Won’t spare those who incriminated me. Will seek revenge and fight for 8 years of injustice that I went through,” she said.
"I heard that I've been given a clean chit by NIA, but after 8 years. Delayed justice itself is injustice," said Sadhvi Pragya, adding that she would take it upon herself to ensure that those who conspired to keep her behind bars are brought to book.
"Now that I've been given a clean chit, I believe investigation is going in right direction. I've always said I'm not the culprit," she added.
Sadhvi, who was lodged in Bhopal Central Jail, had threatened to fast unto death if she was not allowed to bathe in the river. She was admitted to a local ayurvedic hospital after her health deteriorated.
Superintendent of Police Rajesh Bhadoria told reporters, "We have offered adequate security to Sadhvi Pragya and medical experts are also accompanying her. All security and medical arrangements are in compliance with the Dewas court decision."
Bhagvan Jha, her close aide, said, "Sadhvi Pragya has decided to call off the hunger strike as a Dewas court on Tuesday allowed her to take a dip in the Shipra. She is under heavy security and is travelling to Ujjain in an ambulance to attend the Kumbh Mela."
He added, "Her health is stable, she has consumed only water and medicines. She has refrained from eating anything solid."
Sadhvi Pragya is accused of involvement in the murder of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) functionary Sunil Joshi and is facing trial in the case. She is currently imprisoned at Central Jail in Bhopal and is undergoing treatment in Pandit Khushilal Ayurveda Hospital there.
