Guwahati: Northeast Frontier Railway today cancelled all trains running between Guwahati and Silchar due to heavy rains and landslide at many places on this route, an official spokesperson said.

”Heavy rain is still continuing and it has resulted in landslides at many places. We have been forced to cancel all trains between Guwahati and Silchar,” he added.

Restoration work was on, but was being hampered because of the rains, he said.

”If the weather improves, trains can run within the next 3-4 days. It all depends on the weather condition,” he said.

NF Railway today cancelled the 25657 Kanchanjungha Express, scheduled to leave from Guwahati on May 5, would remain cancelled between Guwahati and Silchar.

The 25658 Kanchanjungha Express, scheduled to leave from Silchar on May 6, would also remain cancelled between Silchar and Guwahati.

The trains would only run between Guwahati and Sealdah.

On Monday, the NFR had cancelled four other trains between Guwahati and Silchar.
