Devastated by the horrifying incident that took place on Friday near Dostpur village of Bulandshahr district, the family of the rape victims on Monday threatened to commit suicide if the culprits are not punished within three months.
“These men need to be punished within 3 months; else I, my wife and my daughter will commit suicide,” said a member of the family.
Meanwhile, contradicting the step taken by the Uttar Pradesh government, the family members said the suspended Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) came forward to help the sufferers without any delay and demanded his reappointment.
Speaking to India TV, a member from the victims’ family said, “SSP Vaibhav Krishnan immediately rushed to our help. He also promised that all the culprits will be arrested soon.”
UP Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav yesterday went into a fire-fighting mode and suspended the SSP along with other top officials after they failed to obey the deadline of arresting the criminals by 5 pm in the evening.
