Polling is underway for seventh and the last phase of Lok Sabha election 2019, on Sunday. In this phase, 59 constituencies, spread over seven states and one union territory, will go to polls.
In Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, voting will take place for 13 seats each, nine in West Bengal, eight seats each in Bihar and Madhya Pradesh, all four constituencies of Himachal Pradesh; three in Jharkhand and lone seat of Chandigarh.

Prominent candidates in this phase include Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Ministers - Manoj Sinha, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Harsimrat Kaur Badal and Hardeep Singh Puri, Kirron Kher, Sunny Deol and Ravi Kishan of BJP, Sukhbir Badal of SAD, Meira Kumar and Shatrughan Sinha of Congress and Shibu Soren of JMM.
In Bengal, sitting MP Abhishek Banerjee, who is the nephew of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee is seeking re-election from the Diamond Harbour seat, where he is pitted against BJP's Nilanjan Roy. The CPI(M) has nominated Fuad Halim and the Congress Soumya Aich Roy for the seat. Abhishek Banerjee is considered the number two in the TMC.
The general election is currently being held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019 to constitute the 17th Lok Sabha. The counting of votes will be conducted on 23 May, and on the same day, the results will be declared.
Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim are being held simultaneously with the general election.
