The death toll in Dharwad building collapse in Karnataka mounted to 14 on Friday after another body was found from the debris, As many as 62 people have been rescued so far as the rescue operation continued for the fourth consecutive day.
Around 12 people were still missing in the building collapse that happened on Tuesday.
After being trapped for almost four days in the rubble, a man was rescued alive on Friday.
"A total of 14 people have died. Yesterday, we rescued two people. Three more people are trapped in the debris. We have given oxygen and ORS to them. SDRF and NDRF teams are conducting rescue operations," Deputy Commissioner Deepa Cholan said on Friday.
Karnataka CM HD Kumaraswamy vistied the site on Thursday.
"Several people were suspected to be trapped under the rubble." Kumaraswamy told the media.
"The district administration has already announced a magisterial inquiry and the government is ready to appoint a retired high court judge if required," he said.
On Wednesday, the Indian Air Force (IAF) airlifted two teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) to Karnataka's Hubli from Hindon in Uttar Pradesh to join the rescue and search operation after an under-construction building collapsed in Kumareshwar Nagar in Dharwad on Tuesday.
The operations are being conducted jointly by the NDRF and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
