New Delhi: To ensure utmost ease to students, Delhi University has made the process of admissions to undergraduate courses centralised and entirely online, which starts from June 1.
With a click of a button, students can now fill the application form, upload documents, pay the registration fee and even select the college.
Here are the 10 important things you need to know when applying for Delhi University undergraduate courses:
- The new norms for admission include 5 per cent quota for Kashmiri migrants, which was previously 3 per cent as well as 1 per cent relaxation for women students.
- According to the new admission procedure, students need to register themselves on the varsity website followed by an eight-step process in which personal details, various scanned documents (class X, class XII, passing certificates), reserved category certificate and passport size photograph will have to be provided.
- For general students, the one-time registration fee is Rs 100 whereas that for SC/ST is Rs 50.
- Students once admitted will have to pay the fee online and not in colleges.
- The online registration for UG admission will conclude on June 19.
- This year, the university has decided to release five cut-off lists. Here are the release dates – First cut-off list: June 27, Second cut-off list: July 1, Third cut-off list: July 7, Fourth cut-off list: July 12, Fifth cut-off list: July 16.
- After each cut-off list, students will have three days for documents verification and approval for admission. If a student fails to pay the admission fees within three days, they will be allowed to submit it latest by 12 noon on the fourth.
- To eliminate multiple occupation of seats by a student, the university announced that after each list, a candidate will be able to choose only one course from a college for admission.
- In order to change the course/college, students will first have to get their admission cancelled at the college. Once the cancellation is uploaded on the varsity website, the candidate can change their course/college as per their wish
- In case, seats in colleges remain vacant, students will have to register themselves again through the DU portal and then select the course and college.
