The Delhi Police on Thursday arrested three criminals in connection with the Taimoor Nagar murder case. The police said two of the accused have confessed to their crime after sustained interrogation.
The Delhi Police had been receiving a lot of flak for failing to arrest the attackers following the brazen murder of a man right outside his house in southeast Delhi's Taimoor Nagar.
CCTV images showed that the attackers were involved in at least two loot incidents after shooting 34-year-old Rupesh on Sunday (September 30) night.
The video also showed the assailants roaming freely on the roads of the national capital in a looted Honda City car.
Rupesh's murder had triggered protests in Taimoor Nagar area.
Locals burnt two motorcycles and pelted stones at the police personnel who were trying to manage the crowd. A policeman was injured in the stone pelting.
Rupesh's family claimed that he had opposed the sale of drugs in the area and that is why he was attacked. Locals had also staged protests in the area and accused the police of being hand in glove with the accused.
