In a brazen broad daylight incident, armed robbers killed two occupants of a cash van and fled away with Rs 11 lakh in Delhi's Narela area on Thursday afternoon. According to reports, the robbery-cum-killing took place around 2.30 pm when the van had come to pick cash from a wine shop at Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC) industrial area.
Cashier Rajnikant and guard Prem Kumar were shot dead by two motorcycle-borne men who intercepted the van after cash was loaded in it. The two assailants opened indiscriminate firing at the van injuring the two occupants. The attackers were wearing helmets to conceal their identity.
They were rushed to a local hospital where both succumbed to injuries.

Similar loot attempt made in Rohini earlier this week
The incident comes just a couple of days after a similar attempt was made to loot a cash van in Rohini area of the national capital. On April 24, two men were shot at by assailants, who wanted to rob a cash van in the Metro Vihar area of Rohini, but their attempt was thwarted by the victims.
The van of a logistics company had stopped outside an ATM in Holambi Kalan village to replenish it with cash. While the cashier, Baran Singh, went inside the ATM, the security guard, Tara Chand, stood beside him.
Suddenly, two bike-borne men, wearing helmets, came there. They first fired at Chand, who sustained a bullet injury in his leg. He also fired in retaliation. Showing his presence of mind,
the cashier immediate downed the shutter of the ATM. The injured guard was admitted to a hospital where his condition is stated to be out of danger.
