Delhi police have arrested a 26-year-old man, who allegedly killed a person upon being asked to pay back a loan of Rs 30,000. Identified as Nitin Yadav, the accused killed one Bhoj Narayanan with the help of a juvenile, who also has been apprehended, police said. The incident was reported from south-west Delhi.
According to the police, Yadav himself made a call to the police control room (PCR) on March 21 and informed them he was taking one injured person, who had met with an accident, to the hospital.
An enquiry was made after Yadav's statement, however, no eye witnesses came forward.
In his statement, Yadav had told police that he was known to the injured person and had admitted him to a hospital in Dwarka area. The doctors had declared the injured person as brought dead upon their arrival in the hospital, the accused had said.
Commenting on the incident, police said there were certain discrepancies in Yadav's statement and it also did not match information gathered from surveillance.
A resident of Kapashera, Yadav later confessed to his involvement in the case and stated that he had killed the deceased with the help of a juvenile. He said he used an iron rod to beat the victim to death, police said.
Yadav had borrowed Rs 30,000 from the deceased. When Narayanan asked for his money, the accused planned to eliminate him, police said.
The juvenile was apprehended on Yadav's information, they said.
