New Delhi: Experiencing another blistering day, the national capital today reeled under scorching heat, recording its hottest day of the season with temperature nearing 46 degree Celsius.

While the temperature was recorded at 43.4 degrees Celsius at 2.30 PM, Palam reported a temperature of 45.4 degrees at the same time.

The conditions were no good earlier today when Delhi witnessed 42 degrees Celsius as early as 11 am today.

People struggled with the heat wave on their way to work. Heavy traffic blockage due to protests by cab drivers further worsened the city's condition.

In what will come as a ray of hope in conditions of such blistering heat, the weather department has hinted at the possibility of rain by tomorrow.

"The sky would be partly cloudy throughout the day while dust storm or thunder storm is likely towards evening or night," an official of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

However, the IMD also indicated the possibility of heat wave conditions in the coming days.

The minimum temperature on Sunday was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average, while the humidity ranged between 14 and 56 percent.

Saturday's maximum temperature settled at 39.9 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average, while the minimum temperature was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius, three notches below the season's average.
