Mumbai: Underworld don Dawood Ibrahim’s youngest brother Humayun Kaskar, 40, died of cancer on Thursday in Karachi. He had been suffering from cancer for a long time and succumbed to the disease on Thursday afternoon.
Humayun, who fled along with Dawood in the late 1980s, was suffering from cancer since 2007. His burial took place on Friday at Abdullah Shah Ghazi Dargah in Karachi's Clifton.
“While Dawood is wanted accused in the 1993 Bombay blasts case, Humayun was not involved in any gangland related activities but was trusted with the responsibility of handling the real estate business operation of the D-gang in many countries across South East Asia”, The Indian Express quoted an intelligence agency source.
Humayun did not have any offence registered against him in India. He reportedly handled legitimate businesses of the family in Dubai and Karachi which included malls and showrooms.
Dawood had six brothers and five sisters. His elder brother Shabir was killed in gangwar in 1983 while Noora died of kidney disease in 2011. Anis and Mustaquim are staying with Dawood in Karachi while his brother Iqbal is in Mumbai after he was deported from UAE in 2003.
Don’s sisters Shaheeda and Haseena are dead while his sister Mumtaz lives in Karachi with her husband. Farzana and Jaitoon live in Mumbai and London respectively.
