An IAS officer is facing wrath of the BJP government in Chhattisgarh for commenting on the achievements of late Jan Sangh leader Deendayal Upadhyaya on a social networking site.
Shiv Anant Tayal, who was the CEO of Kanker Zilla Parishad, has been transferred by the government while a show-cause notice is being issued to him.
A senior official of the state government told PTI that the officer was transferred to the state Secretariat.
Tayal, a 2012 batch IAS officer, had posted a critical comment about Upadhyaya's contribution on Facebook on Friday, after which, BJP leaders demanded action against him.
BJP is currently celebrating the birth centenary of Deendayal Upadhyaya.
"The government is going to issue him a show-cause notice regarding the Facebook post," the official said.
However, Tayal had later expressed regret on the same networking site over his post.
“I made a post in the morning raising some spontaneous questions on Pt Deendayal Upadhyay. The act was in a casual followup of some reading and browsing. It was never an intention to raise questions on credibility of stalwarts or to offend anyone,” he wrote on Facebook Friday.
“Nevertheless, if that happened, I am deeply apologetic and express regret about that. Thank you,” he said.
