Patna: The declaration of matriculation and Inter results conducted by the Bihar State Education Board (BSEB) has opened up a can of worms. As the police steps up in its probe following a go-ahead from Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, skeletons continue to fall out of the closet each passing day.
The board’s former chief Lalkeshwar Singh is on the run and so is his wife Usha Sinha, whom the SIT is keen to probe as a non-FIR accused for her alleged role in the whole scam.
But that is, as it turns out, the least of her troubles. Officials say that Usha Sinha’s own degrees could well be forged and she will have a lot of answering to do on her own educational qualifications.
Notably, Sinha happens to be a former ruling Janata Dal-United legislator. According to the affidavit filed by Usha Sinha in 2010, she was 49-years-old when she contested the Bihar Assembly elections and won the polls.
Sinha's year of birth in the affidavit is given as 1961, and she completed her matriculation from the UP Education Board in 1969 -- which means she passed her matriculation when she was only eight-years-old.
Her affidavit further states that she completed her Master's degree from Awadh University in 1976. Interestingly, Awadh University was established in 1975. Going by her affidavit, Usha Sinha completed the two years of MA in just one year and passed out in 1976.
Also, she earned her Ph.D. at 23 from Magadh University.
Currently, she is working in the Hindi department of the College of Commerce in Patna -- but missing along with her husband after the toppers scam broke out.
