Dehradun: A Jet airways flight on Jolly Grant Airport was searched here on Tuesday evening after receiving information from an anonymous caller that bombs had been placed in five flights of Jet Airways.
The threat was received when three of the 5 flights had already landed at their destinations.
The passengers were evacuated at Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport after a bomb scare was reported in the Mumbai-Dehradun flight.
The plane was taken to an isolated place near Dehradun airport so as to check the aircraft for a bomb.
Police said the call regarding flight 9W832 was received at around 4 p.m., just before it was to take off with some 115 passengers.
"A thorough search is being conducted in the plane" at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Deputy Commissioner of Police Dinesh Kumar Gupta told IANS.
He said all the passengers had been evacuated and taken to a safe place.
Securities agencies are already on alert after serious attacks in Belgian capital city Brussels.
About 29 people are feared dead and around 90 injured in the serial attacks at Brussels Zaventem Airport today morning.
