Motihari: Tension has gripped the Motihari district of Bihar after two girls including a minor girl were allegedly gang-raped here yesterday.
In one of the incidents that is reminiscent of the horrific 2012 Nirbhaya gangrape case in New Delhi, a 21-year-old girl was raped by four men at gunpoint here on Wednesday night.
The incident took place when the victim was going to defecate in the field. According to police, the victim said that one of the accused molested her and recorded a video of the crime.
When she complained about the crime to police, four men from the family of the accused gang-raped her at gunpoint. The girl was found lying naked at the roadside under the Ramgarhwa police station area, police said.
The victim was admitted to Motihari Sadar Hospital in a critical condition. The accused are absconding.
In another part of the district, a 10-year old was raped by two men. The minor had to undergo major surgery after the incident.
According to girl’s brother, both the accused kidnapped her and raped her.
“When she shouted they put a knife to her throat,” he said, adding that his family is being pressured to withdraw the case.
She is in a critical state at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), police said, adding that they have arrested both the accused, identified as Pramod Sahni and Kamal Sahni.
