Amitabh Bachchan would have been a better prime minister than Narendra Modi: Priyanka Gandhi

While addressing a rally in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, " Amitabh Bachchan would have been a better prime minister than Narendra Modi."

Congress general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh (East), Priyanka Gandhi Vadra has made a stunning comment during an election rally in Uttar Pradesh's Mirzapur. Addressing a rally, Priyanka Gandhi said, "Ab aap samajh lijiye ke apne duniye ke sabse bade abhineta ko apna PM bana diya hai, is se accha toh aap Amitabh Bachchan ko hi bana dete, karna toh kisi ne kuch nahi tha aapke liye." This translates to, "You have elected world's greatest actor as your PM. It would have been better if you would have made Amitabh Bachchan as your PM."

The war of words in the Lok Sabha election campaign is just getting bitter as both, the Congress Party and the BJP going against each other with full throttle. Earlier on Thursday, Congress president Rahul Gandhi told India TV that, "Modi's time as Prime Minister was over." This on a day when the Bharatiya Janata Party claimed that NDA was heading to a massive majority and the Opposition was just finding excuses for what it called an "imminent defeat."

Poll campaign for the seventh and last phase of elections ends today evening. The final phase (7th Phase) of voting to elect the 17 Lok Sabha will take place on May 19. States that will go to vote during final phase include West Bengal, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh (UT), Madhya Pradesh and Jharkhand. Uttar Pradesh and Punjab will have voting on 13 seats each in the final phase. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the biggest name in the fray during the final phase of polling in Varanasi. 

Counting of votes will begin on May 23.
