Former Defence minister and senior Congress leader AK Antony, who was on Wednesday admitted to Delhi's Ram Manohar Lohia hospital after he suffered a "minor" brain haemorrhage, will undergo surgery at the Ram Manohar Lohia (RML) hospital in New Delhi.
The 76-year-old Congress leader is undergoing conservative treatment as doctors needed time to decide on the next course of action.
"There was a meeting of neurosurgeons and general surgeons today (Thursday) morning to decide on the surgery," said a hospital official.
"He was admitted in the afternoon. He suffered a minor brain haemorrhage after he fell down at his home," said a doctor on the condition of anonymity.
Antony was the defence minister during the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.
