Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar airport shut down, many commercial flights suspended

Several commercial flights have been suspended after India shot down a Pakistan F-16 fighter jet following the violation of its air space. India has suspended all comercial flights in Jammu, Leh, Srinagar, Amritsar have been suspended. Pakistan has also shutdown Lahore's international air port.

Airports in Leh, Jammu, Srinagar, Pathankot and Amritsar were shut down for all commercial flights as situation between India and Pakistan remained tensed following air space violations in Jammu and Kashmir. The airspace was suspended due to security reason. Reports also confirm that Pakistan has shutdown commercial activities at Lahore International Airport as a preventive measure. 

According to informed sources, the airports' facilities are currently being used by the Indian Air Force (IAF). 

Consequently, no commercial operation will take place in these airports. Several flights to and from these airports have either been diverted or put on hold.

All fights from from Delhi to Punjab and Haryana has also been suspended.

"Due to airspace restrictions, flights to and from Amritsar, Srinagar, Chandigarh and Jammu are currently on hold. Customers are requested to check flight status before commencing their journey to the airport," Air Vistara tweeted.
