After 74 years, remains of 2 WW-II Indian soldiers to be buried in Italy

The remains will be buried with full military honours by the Commonwealth Graves Commission in Italy.

Mortal remains of two Indian soldiers who fought in the Second World War in 1944 will finally be buried after a gap of 74 years at Girone Monumental Cemetery in Florence, Italy .

The two soldiers have been identified as Sepoy Hari Singh and Sepoy Palu Ram, both hailing from Haryana. Both of them had gone missing on September 13 in 1944 while fighting in the battle of Poggio Alto where they pitted against the 362 German Infantry Division, reports said. 

The remains will be buried with full military honours by the Commonwealth Graves Commission in Italy. After the burial, soil from the graves will be brought to India and handed over to the relatives.
