Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) chief Swati Maliwal was issued summons by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) today for the alleged irregularities in appointing DCW staff.
ACB has summoned Maliwal on the basis of the complaint filed in this regard by Delhi Congress leader and former DCW chief Barkha Shukla.
In her complaint, Barkha Shukla has accused Maliwal of arbitrarily appointing 85 people to DCW after she took the charge as its chief.
Maliwal has been asked to appear before ACB on Monday.
The complaint says that around 90 per cent of contractual staff of the Delhi Commission for Women, led by Maliwal, belongs to Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) cadre.
In August, Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal had expressed apprehension that the ACB will arrest Swati Maliwal soon because she was doing a good job.
“Sources-LG n PMO hell bent on removing wati Maliwal 4 doing gud job. She'll be arrested coming week n then removed," Kejriwal had tweeted.
