Seven Naxals were killed in a joint operation carried out by the Chhattisgarh State Police and their Telangana counterparts in Bijapur district.
A joint squad of Greyhounds- an elite anti-Naxal squad of the Telangana Police and security personnel from Chhattisgarh launched a joint operation in the forest range near Ipenta village after receiving tip-offs regarding the presence of Maoists there.
Security forces have recovered bodies of the seven Naxal cadres from the encounter spot. Some weapons and Maoist literature were also seized from the site. Search operation is underway.
