The Indian Army today killed five militants as it foiled a major infiltration attempt by them to cross over from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) into the Machhil sector of Jammu and Kashmir.
"A major infiltration bid was foiled today in the Machhil sector by alert troops," a defence spokesman said here.
The spokesperson said five militants were killed in the operation and five weapons were recovered from them. The operation was going on when reports last came in, he said.
Five weapons were recovered by the Army during the search, he added.
