Two terrorists were gunned down early on Sunday in an encounter between security forces and militants in Tahab village of Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama district. The neutralised terrorists have been identified as Irfan Ahmad Sheikh and Abid Magray.
The security forces said they received information on Saturday about the presence of militants in the area, following which they cordoned off the village.
As the search operation continued from house to house, militants hiding on one of the houses fired on the forces.
Security forces have cleared the area and a counter-operation is currently underway.
