Two coaches of 12431 Trivandrum Rajdhani Express derailed between Ratlam and Godhra in Madhya Pradesh on Thursday morning after a truck rammed into it. Even as the passengers were all unhurt, the truck driver received serious injuries and later succumbed to death.
According to an official statement by the Western Railways, the incident, took place at 06:44 am today between Meghnagar-Thandla Road stations on Ratlam-Godhra section in Ratlam Division. The truck rammed into a manned level crossing, closed to let the express train pass. No passenger was injured in the incident, the statement said, adding that medical van and accident relief train had reached at site.
"The passengers of affected coaches have been shifted to the other coaches and the train has moved from the site, leaving the affected coaches. Restoration work is on to start the lines at the site ASAP," it said.
