A sudden storm accompanied with high wind speed led to the collapse of around 100 houses within 60 seconds in Greater Noida on Tuesday night.
The area was first hit by a hailstorm after which the roads were flooded with ice pellets. The hailstorm was followed by another storm that was accompanied by high-speed wind. The storm swept through Ali Bardipur village in the Ecotech Sector 3 area.
Around 100 houses of the village collapsed in this storm that caused injury to around 20 people.
The incident took place in Ali Bardipur village at around 8:30 pm, Ecotech-3 police station in-charge Inspector Anita Chauhan said.
The injured are undergoing treatment at various hospitals in Greater Noida, according to Ecotech-3 police station in-charge Inspector Anita Chauhan. She also added that the fire brigade and police reached the spot after getting information of the incident.
According to Chauhan, some cattle were also injured in the incident.
