A viral video of 10 rounds of gunshots being fired within 13 seconds in a moving car in busy Meerut traffic has caused uproar on social media. Even as the face of the person firing the gun is not visible in the video, according to the social media posts, the man is a supporter of BJP councilor Munish Chaudhary.

Chaudhary, who has been accused of assaulting a sub-inspector, was granted bail on Friday. The viral video post claims that the man firing gun in the video was celebrating Chaudhary's freedom. The BJP leader was with him at the time of the incident, it claimed.

However, Chaudhary has denied the allegations and has alleged that he is being framed.

The last time BJP councilor Chaudhary's video hit the social media, it was of him assaulting Sub-Inspector Sukhpal.

SI Sukhpal, in-charge of Mohiuddinpur police outpost and now attached to police lines, had accompanied lawyer friend Deepti Chaudhury to a local restaurant owned by Munish Chaudhary on the evening of October 19. Things turned ugly when the two got into an argument with restaurant staff over delayed service. In the video,  Chaudhary can be seen assaulting Sukhpal, who falls to the ground.

Following the incident, an FIR against Chaudhary, based on separate complaints of SI Sukhpal and lawyer Deepti Chaudhury, was lodged under IPC’s sections 395 (dacoity), 342 (wrongful confinement), 354 (assault or criminal force on woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from his duty) and 353 (assault to deter public servant from discharge of his duties) at Kankerkhera police station. But the police had to drop non-bailable charges (Section 395, 354) against the BJP leader after the bail hearing.
