Nashik: 28 injured after state transport bus hits tanker on Mumbai-Agra National Highway

According to the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation officials, the bus was travelling from Kalyan in the Thane district to Chalisgaon in Nashik district when it met an accident.

Maharashtra transport bus on Sunday crashed into a tanker in Nashik, leaving 28 passengers injured. The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC)'s bus was on its way from Kalyan in the Thane district to Chalisgaon in Nashik district when the accident took place, 

The officials said, the bus rammed into the rear side of a tanker near the Pimpalgaon Baswant toll plaza on the Mumbai-Agra National Highway in Niphad taluka around 4 pm.

26 passengers and the driver and conductor of the MSRTC bus were injured in the accident, he added.

The injured persons have been taken to nearby private hospitals, he said, adding that the exact reason behind the accident is yet to be established.
